Japanese Curry & Beef Teriyaki


hehehe.... yesterday Deepavali a public hoilday in M'sia... so just find something to cook....

always like the Japanese curry that my coll always cook... just so happen it's in the recipe book i bought.... looks so easy so just try laa....

Japanese Curry
Ingredient:
1 onion (diced)
2 carrot (diced)
2 potato (diced)
400gm meat (any meat, beef/pork ribs/chicken) - diced
4 cubes of Japanese curry paste
water

Method:
1) add some oil to the wok/pot, fry onion till fragrance
2) add in meat and stir-fry for 5 mins.
3) add in diced potato and carrot.
4) pour in water to cover all the indregient, add in Japanese curry paste, stir till paste disolve into the water.
5) bring to boil and simmer for 30 mins...
6) Tada done







Beef Teriyaki
400gm lean beef, thinly sliced
2tbsp teriyaki sauce
1tbsp mirin
1 onion sliced

Method:
1) merinate the beef with teriyaki sauce and mirin for 2 hrs
2) hot pan add oil and fry onion till fragrance
3) add in the beef and stir fry till beef tender..
4) done haha..





this is the wholesome Japanese meal i prepared.. haha

Big Retreat


After 4 weeks of hunger, i gave myself a quite big retreat today... hehe.. only mopce a month jeh... guess it wont be tooo over.... but scared my weight might bump up cause of this.... haih dont care lahhh.... this is the way to indulge myself and deserve it....

Morning i went to Mc Donalds drive-thru and bought myself a set of Egg-Mc-Muffin with hash brown and black coffee.... hehe

Afternoon... lunch with my ex touge partnet Mindy it was her birthday few days ago "HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY".. pass to her the present i bought in Hokkaido.. we had our lunch at Old Town Cafe located at Platinum Walk Danau Kota Setapak..... wow... this place developed alot... i had curry hor fun.... mindy had ipoh sa hor fun.... after makan we went to eat Thong Sui "Dessert" at a dessert restaurant few doors away.... then i had the mango sago dessert... mindy had the linchi-pakhup thong sui muahahaha.....





At night.... me and kisumi went for korean bbq food at Taipan USJ.... we just ordered 3 simple things... fried korean glass noodle.. korean pan cake... and beef bulgogi..... burp... already feel full after wallup those variety of kimchis.... kisumi dont eat kimchi.. he finished most of the main dishes.... hahahaha...

This was the Big Retreat... that's it.. no more food for next 4 weeks....

but hor... that day i curi makan 1 piece of KFC fried chicken.... feel damn syiok.... :p:p

btw.. might be flying again beginning of next month.. to Europe this round... hehe...

Ratatouille


Evenyone knows that Ratatouille is about the cute little rat that can cook... hehe.. but do you know that Ratatouille is actually the name of a French dish? well it's actually a French mixed vegetable stew...

recently fell for cooking although i cant eat (dit program)... bought this recipe book which i think is helpful...

i tried this last weekend.. (sollie la no photo) So let me share with you on how to cook this French Cuisine

Ingredient:
3 tbsp olive oil
1 red onion (peeles and sliced)
2 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 capsicum aka bell pepper (cut into 5cm chunks)
1 zucchini aka Japanese cucumber (cut into 5cm chunks)
1 eggplant aka brinjal (cut into 5cm chunks)
4 tomatos (skinned, seeded and diced)
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp Herns de Provence (available at supermaket)
Salt & peppter to taste
Basil for garnish (optional)

Method:
1) Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan, stor-fry onion and garlic for about 2 mins or till fragrant. Remove and set aside
2) In a microwave-proof casserole dish (with lid), add remaining 2 tbsp olive oil, capsicum chunks, zucchini and eggplant. Mocrowave on high for 3 mins
3) Take bowl out and stir in cooked onions and garlis. Add diced tomatoes, tomato puree, sugar, herbs, salt and pepper. Mix well. Cover and microwave on high for another 7 mins.
4) Allow to stand for about 2 mins in the microwave oven afrer cooking is done. Remove bowl from microwave oven, lift lid and stir contents. Except for the tomatoes, the vegetables should be tender but not mushy. Garnish with basil and serve hot.

Personal Note:
* Veggie must be well drained.. else the dish will be very watery
* it will taste better if to add potatoes and white mushrooms.... haha

Kisumi always complain that i always "zap" him due to too much of "electro-static".... what to do... our body will produce lots of positive oins when we stay too long in front of the monitor and also too stressed... these positive ions will be discharged when your body touches metal that connects to the earth.... i always "zapped" by my car especially after work... this is not a good sign and kinda harmful to our body...
