Thanks to Japan Airlines, JALPAK and Kamori Kanko Group for this amazing inspection tour. I always love this kind of inspection tour, good treatment, great hotels, first class food & superb hot spring spa aka onsen. This is the 2nd time i visit Hokkaido, since 3 years back during winter season. Although it's end of spring, but i like the weather there.
Hokkaido (北海道） is a unique place where it's not too hot throughout the year eventhough it's in summer. What make it so unique? well it has different things to attract you year-round. Beautiful flowers blooming in the spring, especially cherry blossom aka Sakura; Lavendar field every in the summer; maple leafes turn red in the autumn; and in winder it has the finest snow fall in the world - they call it powder snow. One more thing to highlight is their milk and dairy products. Hokkaido's milk is the best i've ever drink.
For this round places i went to mostly are ski resorts. (coz now low season mah haha). So we have to use our imagination, wondering how great it would be if it's covered with white powder snow. We covered Sahoro, Furano, Yubari, Noboribetsu & Rusutsu. For 1st time thavellers, Sapporo the capital city of Hokkaido is a must in their itinerary. followed by Otaru, which located 1hr north to Sapporo is also a must-go place in the itinerary for winter season.
Before i get all my photos ready, let me do some highlights on the places i went this time. Since it's sponssored by Kamori Kanko Group, most of the properties and attraction we visited are operated under their group.
Sahoro
Located 2.30hrs east from Chitise Aiport, is a good place for skiing and golfing. there are 2 ski resorts in Sahoro, one is Club Med Sahoro, another one is Sahoro Resort Hotel. We were put in Sahoro Resort Hotel (which is operated by Kamori Kanko group). the ski slopes are just 5 minutes walk from the resort. They also have a 18-holes gold course located 10 minutes drive from the resort
Furano富良野
Located 1hr north to Sahoro, Furano is the only place in Hokkaido that produces first class wine and cheese. In summer (July) this place will be packed with lavendar maniac.
Yubari夕张
Located 2hs away from Furano, 1hr drive from Sapporo & Chitose Airport. Also one of the famous ski resorts. It produces best melon and potatoes in Hokkaido. And it's also famous for coal mining.
Noboribetsu登别
Located 2hrs from Furano. It takes 1hr if come from Chitose Airport. It's famous of Hot Spring. Few attractions has been added since my last visit, like Marine Park Nixe, Bear Park and Date Jidai Mura Ninja-theme Park. Of all, not to forget about the landmark of Noboribetsu, the Nigokudani aka Hell Valley
Rusutsu留寿都
Localed 1.5hrs from Noboribetsu, Chitose Airport and Sapporo city. It is the biggest and the most famous ski resort in Hokkaido, with 3 ski mountains and more than 37 ski lanes; It also has a huge amusement park with 5 roller coaster rides that will close on winter season; Besides it have 4 18-holes golf courses, one of it does operate at night, so guests can enjoy night golfing
Hokkaido has few great touge, but according to them, Japanese dont really speed on the street, coz the summons cost a bomb. Imagine if you exceed speed limit by 20-30kmh, your penalty will be calling up for court, and summon around 200,0000 Yen. That's about RM 6000.
