Back Date: 25 Oct 07 - Melbourne ~ Dandenong Range ~ Phillip Island

Today we will be transferred from Melbourne to Phillip Island..

In the morning around 8.30am.. we check out hotel then transfer to Dandenong Range to catch with the famous steam train.. Puffing Billy Steam Rail... en route.. we make a short stop at Dandenong Range National Park picnic area to get nearer to the nature and hand feed the beautiful birds.. to city people like us obviously it was fun... haha...

Next, we transferred to the Belcrave train station to ride on the Puffing Billy.... which still using steam engine... we then made a stop at the 1st station at Menzies Creek, which is 13 km away from Belcrave, crossing the beautiful Dandenong Range. The journey took at around 35 minutes.... it was damn cool to hear the "chooo choooo..." whistle sound... ^^ After disembark from Menzies Creek, we then get back to our coach, and continue our journey down south to Phillip Island....

The journey took around 1.5hrs to reach Phillip Island from Melbourne... a small island which is popular with the colony of fur seals and smallest penguin in the world... upon arrival.. we visit Rhyll Fishing Park... there we experienced the fun and excitement of fishing... there are 2 ponds in Rhyll's.. one is outdoor.. another one is indoor.. both also have a "pond"ful of big trouts... some of our tour members able to catch few in a row... whereas none for me... :( we had fresh fish & chip for lunch... for those who caught the fishes well the kitchen cooked for them instantly... ha.. lucky them... ^^

The next stop is AMaze'N Things... a place that tricks your illusion haha... it was kinda funny.. and fun... and it's suitable for everyone.. especially for kids... :p

In the late afternoon.. we visit the Nobbies Centre.. where we are able to view the protected fur seals which is located at the island 1km offshore thru the cameras installed... when towards to the sunset.. we head to the attraction of the day "penguin parade"... where the cute little penguins get up from the sea and march back to their respective burrows in a group... (sollie ler no photos allowed for this session)..

After a full exhausted, cold & wet day... finally is our dinner time.. tonite's dinner is at Harry's on the Esplanade.. a fine-dining restaurant that located by the sea.... i had a medium steak.. and chocolate cake as dessert.. hehe...

lastly... we check in to our hotel - All Season Eco Resort.. a newly operated countryside villa while located right next to the farmyard.... this villa is like ur home.. it has everything u need from washing machine to air heater.. from fridge to dish washer.. u name it.. haha... i took the opportunity to wash all my dirty clothes.. haha...
