Back Date: 27 Oct 07 - Melbourne ~ Sydney

From Melbourne.. 13 of us transferred to Sydney (another 4 more headed to Hobart Tasmania) by budget carrier Virgin Blue.. well it is similar to Air Asia... the only different is this is a numbered seated flight.. unlike Air Asia that based on first come first served basis... and Virgin's turn-around time is much shorter and efficient that i ever seen..

Upon arrival at Sydney.. we were transferred to Darling Harbour for our scrumptious lunch!! My first impression to Sydney compare with Melbourne... it's more dense in Sydney.. too many people everywhere... hmmmm i still love Melbourne more...

This day.. we were treated fresh seafood platter with lobster!!! well ofcoz there's no free lunch ler...... combined with another batch of 11 deligates that just visited Gold Coast... we were again splitted into 3 groups... to start our 1.5 day of treasure hunt!!!!

Each of the our team mates were given different tasks!! i volunteered to become the map reader to lead the group to the required destinations... hehe this is a very tough and important task u know... coz if u dont have sense of direction.. u might mislead the group to "Holland".. haha.... we then given a set of questionaire, a map of Sydney city, See Sydney Attraction Entrance Pass, bus and train transit pass, Sydney Explorer Hop-on-hop-off Pass & a digital Camera.... we have to plan to go to the given destinations all by our own!!! but ofcoz each group will be escorted by a rep from New South Wales... Our escort is a lovely lady.. Ms Margo!! Our team members: The only guy Alfred, Allisa, Azlina and Deseree from Singapore, Juliana, Sherena, Thinin and myself from Malaysia...

From Darling Harbour.. our group were transferred to Circular Quay.. our first destination is to Taronga Zoo... from Circular Quay.. we need to take a ferry ride to Taronga Pier... then take a safari cablecar up to the top of the hill..... our task: fo find out how many type of elephants in the zoo... take a group photo with giraffe... take a photo with a zoo keeper...

Our next destination.... Sydney Opera House... from Taronga Zoo... we took the ferry back to Circular Quay then catch the Sydney Explorer bus (A sightseeing bus network that stops at most of the attraction at city centre)... to Sydney Opera House... Actually we can take a 5 mins walk over from Circular Quay.. it is very nearby... but since we have to validate our transit card... so we decided to take the Sydney Explorer Bus.. from 1st Station Circular Quay... to 2nd station Opera House.... Our task: take a group photo in front of the 3 sails.. and catch up with the visit Opera House tour which is scheduled at 4.30pm.... sorry... it's not allowed to take photos inside Opera Theater... coz it's a copy right thingy... woh.....

After the Opera House tour.... we take a way back to Circular Quay train station... again... use the transit pass... to get back to our hotel... which is located at Pitt Street.. well... this group is very lucky coz they have a good navigator and great map reader... when i just got the map and questionaire.. i've already well planned ahead how to get to those specified destinations.. and back to hotel!!! from Circular Quay train station.. we need to stop at Central Station.. According to the map... from Central we required to walk across a garden... and our hotel is just opposite the garden!! Yeah BINGO!! we were the first team to arrived at the hotel... JUST IN TIME!!!

After washed up and wait for the rest... we then gather again at the hotel lobby... and walk to our dinner venue nearby.... We had our dinner at Cafe Kasturi.. a Malaysian-owned restaurant.. which serves authentic Malaysia, Singapore & Thai Cuisine! and most important.. its all HALAL... we met quite a number of Malaysian student having their dinner there too!!

Ok... that's all for Day 01 of treasure hunt.... stay tuned for Day02 for more excitement!!!
